Adsense is by far the best way to monetize your website if you are thinking of monetizing it by displaying advertisements. But getting Adsense approval is not as easy as it may seem to some. And this is why this article outlines some of the most common reasons your website is not getting approval from Adsense team.
All the points discussed below are not stated by Adsense in any way. These points are the outcome of my and some fellow blogger’s experience with Adsense.

1. Age Of Domain
Domains registered for less than 6 months are less likely to be approved by Adsense team. The duration is not set in stone, and some of my fellow bloggers even got approval within two months of buying the domain. But they had good quality content on their websites which may have overshadowed this condition.

2. Privacy Policy
I did not had a privacy policy page on this website even after 6 months of getting Adsense approval. But many people got approved when they added a privacy policy page, and were always dis-approved before that. There may be other reasons for their blog being approved, but having privacy policy page does no harm.

3. Get A abc@domain.com Email Address
This is what I have learned and experienced after getting dis-approved for 3 times in a row. When I was using my standard Gmail account to apply for Adsense, I got the rejection email with no clue of what was wrong with my website.
And when I applied with my admin@mstoic.com email address, I still got dis-approved, but Adsense team clearly mentioned the reasons for that. And after taking the appropriate actions, they approved my website. So use a personal (domain specific) email address if you are looking for quick Adsense approval.

4. Adsense Age Restriction
As stated in the Adsense Terms And Conditions, you need to be at least 18 years old to get Adsense approval. Adsense does not allow people below this age.
If you are anywhere less than 18, ask someone in your family to apply for Adsense with their email account, and make sure that they are older than 18 years.
The payments will be made to the person who applies for Adsense. Make sure it’s OK with you to receive the payments on their name.

5. Minimum Number Of Pages
Adsense has not mentioned any number of minimum pages required on your website to apply for Adsense in Adsense terms and conditions. But some bloggers reported that their websites were approved only after having 20 pages.
Apply for Adsense only after having atleast 20 pages on your website. Adsense team is not likely to approve your website it you have less content on your website.

6. Great And Unique Content
Not only your website visitors and search engines, Adsense team also needs some great and unique content published on your website before they approve it. Don’t think of making money without having something that can provide value to your readers.

7. Don’t Use Other Ad Networks
Adsense allows you to maximize your revenue by having ads from other ad networks in addition to Adsense, but being the best in class and paying the highest CPC, I will recommend you against doing so. This is because of the following reasons:
- Adsense allows having at most 3 ads on a single web page, which is more than enough.
- You may use other ad networks on your website along with Adsense, but make sure you don’t violate their TOS. Since most ad networks don’t go well with Adsense, I will recommend avoiding them.
- The return from other ad networks in very less when compared with Adsense, so there is no much revenue benefit is you use them.

8. Organic Traffic
Apply for Adsense only when your website starts getting traffic from search engines. This is necessary both for getting approved by Adsense and to make money through it, because you get good CPC when visitors come through search engines.

9. Don’t Buy Traffic
Google hates paid traffic, and so does Adsense. If you want to make some money with Adsense, make sure you show ads to genuine visitors and not the paid ones.
Many people have reported about banning of their Adsense account when they started generating traffic on their website by buying it. So make sure you don’t generate traffic to your website using Facebook ads or some other kind of paid advertisement.

10. Get A Custom Domain
This is not true in most cases but many bloggers have reported about getting Adsense approval only after switching to a custom domain. Custom domains are the registered domains that you buy for a price and not what you get from Blogger (mstoic.blogspot.com) or WordPress (mstoic.wordpress.com).

11. Choose The Right Subject
Make sure you write about topics that are accepted by Adsense. Writing on Pornography or other subjects that violate Adsense’s TOC will never get your Adsense account approved. Make sure to check out if your website’s subject is allowed with Adsense.

12. Your Blog/Website Design
It may not seem to be, but the blog design has an impact while your Adsense application is in the review process. The Adsense team needs a good template and some areas where you can easily place ads. Make sure you have a good blog design and you have some dedicated places to place ads.
Having a responsive blog design is always advisable for the visitors as it makes sure that your blog always looks good from all the devices.
