How to Stop Facebook Apps From Publishing on Your Behalf :

1. Open the Privacy Settings page.

2. If you are logged into Facebook then move to step 3, else login to your Facebook account.

3. Now just scroll down and click on “Edit Settings” under the “Ads, Apps and Websites” section.

4. Now here you can do two things. Either block all the apps and all the ability to use Facebook apps and all the plugins on Facebook.com and even on other sites. You can do this by clicking on “Turn off” or you can click on “Edit Settings” and select and remove the apps one by one.

P.S. Most of the apps on Facebook requires the access to your personal information and the publishing rights. Personal information can range from Name, Email, basic Info and even access to your news feeds. This is something that can be permitted. But the publishing rights can be misused, the author of the app can post anything on your behalf, so you need to be sure of the author and the corporation, the application is a part of. They should be well-known, legitimate and trustworthy.
